Lead design for MCP connectors UX & DX in Canva AI

• Lead design for MCP connectors in Canva AI across teams spanning developer experience, discovery, UI tools and capabilities, and admin experience, after working directly with Canva's founders on the first launch at Canva Create 2026.
• Starting in late 2024, was one of the first two designers on Canva's experience in Claude. Prototyped it as a React artifact with an editor-like preview, an engineering workaround that unblocked the team when embedding the editor wasn't feasible. Handed it to the team that launched it in 2025; the pattern carried into Canva in ChatGPT and informed later assistant integrations.
• Led design for the launch of the Canva Apps SDK publish intent, shaping the API and app UI with partners such as LinkedIn, Mailchimp, Hootsuite, and Sprout Social. Deferred sign-in until the publish step, so people could write and preview a post before connecting an account. 70+ publish apps have since launched.
• Led design for Apps SDK extension points that let developers import data and assets, and expand URLs (in developer preview), across Canva AI, the editor, and project folders.
• Designed the launch of Canva's Premium Apps program, creating monetization guidelines with launch partners that connect partner revenue with Canva's upgrade path.
• Authored the Content Publisher design guidelines and regularly contribute new patterns to Canva's developer design system and guidelines for developers and coding agents.

Onboarding Team

• Redesigned the journey from sign-up to first successful CI pipeline run, helping reduce time to activate new developers from eight hours to under two minutes.
• Designed new features with the founder: Clusters for organizing multiple pipelines, and the onboarding experience for Buildkite's first hosted agents.
• Designed and implemented visual pipeline experiences in React with engineering partners, translating YAML dependencies and parallelism into an interactive graph developers could explore, later adopted into the core product.
• Revamped the developer docs as Buildkite grew into a multi-product platform.
• Designed and built an AI prototype that generated CI pipelines with OpenAI APIs in the early days of ChatGPT.
• As acting Product Manager, helped establish the Onboarding Team, then led developer research, design, and implementation.
