problem Sooner the better

When a worker's injured and submits a WorkCover claim there are many things we could do to improve the injured worker's recovery. Research has shown that early contact from the employer can improve the return to work outcome by 15% — reducing the time they're away from work and likelihood to develop mental injury, as well as improve WorkCover's financial performance. However, employers lack awareness of the benefits of early contact and are unsure how to best support their workers. Secondly, a few days after the worker submits a WorkCover claim, the employer receives a barrage of documentation from the insurance provider. Employers are typically time-poor and the legal implication of not processing the claims properly is severe.
